I am a board certified family physician.  I trained at the University of Michigan Medical School and went on to complete my residency in Family Medicine in 2003.  After a four month trip through Asia, my husband, Scott, and I moved to Portland, settling in a southeast neighborhood.  We love it here!  I began working for a large Portland hospital system at a satellite clinic in Woodburn.  However, after four years, I decided I needed to change my practice style and create an office environment more in harmony with my life goals and with the desires and needs of my patients.  My new office opened in spring of 2008, and I’ve been happily taking care of patients there ever since.

My first son, Avery, was born in 2010.  He’s a fast runner and an agile tree climber with a startling vocabulary that always makes me smile.  His little brother, Alder, was born in 2013.  Blessed with a perpetually sunny disposition and an infectious giggle, he struggles to prove he’s not the baby.  They’ve added immeasurable richness to our lives.

In my spare time before kids I enjoyed international travel and cuisine, Argentine tango dancing, scuba, and backpacking.  But life changes!  These days we find ourselves biking the neighborhood, hiking with our doodle dog Siggy, and creating fabulous pizzas with lots of home-garden grown toppings.

I am committed to ecologically sound practices both in my home and at the office, from compact fluorescent bulbs to setting up office procedures aimed at minimizing paper.  I strive to buy local.  Please join me in walking or biking to the office!
