Are you curious about becoming a new patient in my practice?  Please click on the orange box to the left to find out current details and to learn how to be placed on my wait list.

Dr. Jennifer Wallace single-handedly runs an innovative medical office in southeast Portland. She has modeled her clinic after the principles of an Ideal Medical Practice, a grassroots movement initiated by physicians across the country who are dissatisfied with the care provided by our current health system. The IMP movement embraces the ideals of high-quality, individualized, and patient-centered care with direct access to your personal doctor.  If you believe this model of health care may suit you, please keep exploring the website to learn more.  And of course, feel free to call Dr. Jen with unanswered questions or to make an appointment.  You can reach her voice mail at 888-480-1115, and she will get back with you shortly.

About me

I am a board certified family physician.  I trained at the University of Michigan Medical School and went on to complete my residency in Family Medicine in 2003.  After a four month trip through Asia, my husband, Scott, and I moved to Portland, settling in a southeast neighborhood.  We love it here!  I began working for a large Portland hospital system at a satellite clinic in Woodburn.  However, after four years, I decided I needed to change my practice style and create an office environment more in harmony with my life goals and with the desires and needs of my patients.  My new office opened in spring of 2008, and I’ve been happily taking care of patients there ever since.

My first son, Avery, was born in 2010.  He’s a fast runner and an agile tree climber with a startling vocabulary that always makes me smile.  His little brother, Alder, was born in 2013.  Blessed with a perpetually sunny disposition and an infectious giggle, he struggles to prove he’s not the baby.  They’ve added immeasurable richness to our lives.

In my spare time of before kids I enjoyed international travel and cuisine, Argentine tango dancing, scuba, and hiking.  But life changes!  These days we find ourselves biking the neighborhood, puddle stomping, and creating fabulous pizzas.  My newest hobby?  Kombucha brewing.

I am committed to ecologically sound practices both in my home and at the office, from compact fluorescent bulbs to setting up office procedures aimed at minimizing paper.  I strive to buy local.  Please join me in walking or biking to the office!
